KAN hold YAC to finish Group A runners up

IMPHAL, Oct 18 : KAN, Kadangbam fought back from a goal down to hold YAC, Yaiskul to a 1-1 draw in the final Group A match in the 29th L Sangita Devi Memorial 1st Division Football League.
YAC enjoyed an early lead in this crucial match courtesy of N Ronaldo in the 12th minute but H Amarjit pulled level for KAN in the 40th minute to keep the competition open.
Despite efforts to make headway, the scoreline remained unchanged till the final whistle.
With the result, KAN finished group runners up on 5 points off a win and two draws below NC Club who topped with 7 points courtesy of two wins and a draw. YAC, meanwhile, finished third on 4 points off a win and a draw with SCK, Kodompokpi  finished fourth without any point.
Group A winners NC Club will now face Group B winners Juvenile Tera in the match that will earn the winners a promotion to the Super Division League.
Group A runners up KAN will now face YWC, Malom in a match that will decide the third and fourth places while third placed YAC will play Group B's third placed team PAMYAL fourth the fifth and the 6th spot of the league tournament.
Bottom placed teams, SCK from Group A and BMSC from Group B will play in a match that will condemn the losing team to relegation to Second Division tier.
