Looms distributed

KAKCHING, Oct 17: District Handloom & Textile, Kakching and Dr Y Radheshyam, MLA Hiyanglam AC distributed looms and other input materials used in weaving to selected beneficiaries of Hiyanglam Handloom Cluster today.
The event was held at the residence of the MLA at Langmeidong under the aegis of the Directorate of Handlooms and Textiles.
Ch Indrajit, former Zilla Parishad, Waikhong GP and Project Director, District Handloom & Textile, Kakching were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Y Radheshyam said that the distribution of looms and other weaving items was held with the goal of ensuring financial freedom for women.
Stating that today's distribution marks the first time for Hiyanglam Handloom Cluster, he maintained that efforts are underway to provide various benefits to 1000 women weavers under the Cluster.
He urged women weavers to avail such benefits provided by the Government to improve their family's economic condition.
