44th Junior Boys and 23rd Mini Boys' State Volleyball Tournaments begin

IMPHAL, Oct 16 : The 44th State Junior Boys and 23rd Mini Boys Volleyball Tournaments kick-started today at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex under the aegis of the All Manipur Volleyball Association.
The junior boys' tournament is featuring 12 teams clubbed into four groups while the mini boys' tournament is featuring 9 teams clubbed into four groups.
Junior Boys match results
AMIMYDO topped the Group A league campaign by defeating CDVA, Chandel 25-16, 25-20 in the opening match and a 25-21, 25-16 win over NDVA in the 2nd match.
In the Group B matches staged today, HVA, Heigrujam beat YPC, Ishok 25-18, 25-17 before UKVC, Kamjong edged out YPC 25-23, 19-25, 15-13 in the second match. In the Group C matches, NYVA, Naorem beat AAVA, Andro 25-14, 25-20 before TRYVC, Ukhrul showed AAVA the exit path by pulling off a 25-14, 25-10 win.
In the Group D matches, DVA, Thoubal beat UDVA, Ukhrul 25-12, 25-23 before SCYC, Senjam Chirang got the better of UDVA 25-7, 25-23.
Mini Boys match results
The day also saw completion of the quarterfinal line up of the mini boys' tournament. Group A winners NYVA, Naorem will play Group B runners up YPC in the first quarterfinal match before Group B winners AMIMYDO take on Group D runners up AAVA, Group C winners SUWC play Group C runners up TRYVC in the following quarter final matches. In the first match of the tournament, AMIMYDO beat CDVA, Chandel 25-11, 25-18 to open Group B account before beating YPC 25-12, 25-13 to finish group winners.
In another Group B match, YPC beat CDVA 25-15, 25-18 to finish group runners up.
In other matches, NYVA topped Group A by beating TRYVC, Ukhrul 25-17, 25-15; SUWC, Irengbam beat SEWA 12-25, 25-23, 15-7 to top Group C and KYLSC beat AAVA 25-15, 25-17 to top Group D.
