MU Inter College Women's Football : Liberal College, Biramangol College reach semi-finals

IMPHAL, Oct 14 : Liberal College and Biramangol College made it to the semi-finals of the Aheibam Borchand Singh Memorial MU Inter College Women's Football Tournament hosted by the Biramangol College Sawombung under the aegis of Manipur University Sports Committee.
The tournament organised in knock-out format features 6-teams.
In the first match, Bijiya L (7', 20', 41') scored a treble and K Anju scored twice (10', 24') to set up a huge 6-1 win over hosts Biramangol College against Ng Mani College at BMC ground.
N Sandhya scored the other goal in the 16th minute of the match as S Linthoi scored the consolation goal for Ng Mani College in the 46th minute.
Biramangol College will play SSGG College, Khurai in the first semi-final match on October 16. The match starts at 8.30 am.
In the second groud, Liberal College fought from a goal down to edge out Manipur University 2-1. Both the goals for Liberal College were scored by Reshma Mukhiya back to back in the 21st and the 27th minutes after P Sanathokpi scored in the 14th minute to give MU a slender 1-0 lead.
Liberal College will face TS Paul MWC in the second semi-final match on October 16. The match starts at 10.30 am.
