Brother shoots brother to death

THOUBAL, Oct 13 : A man allegedly shot his brother dead at Thoubal Ningombam Mayai Leikai last night at around 9.30.
The deceased has been identified as Sapam Swaminath (46), s/o Ibomcha of while the alleged assailant has been identified as Sapam Somorjit (42) alias Bung.
Swaminath is the elder brother of Somorjit.
It is reported that Somorjit shot his brother dead when he intervened and tried to stop a family dispute.
Somorjit was arrested by police at around 11 pm yesterday.
Swaminath was taken to Raj Medicity for treatment but the doctor declared that he was brought dead.
Swaminath was a teacher at Ananda Purna School of Sciences, Thoubal while Somorjit  is a security guard at Thoubal branch of Axis Bank.
It is reported that Somorjit and Swaminath quarrelled in the recent past over non renewal of license gun (double barrel gun) of Somorjit.
It is further reported that Somorjit quarrelled with his wife last night and Swaminath tried to stop them.
Somorjit then fired his gun from inside the house and the pellets hit his brother.
The mortal remains of Swaminath have been handed over to family after an autopsy at JNIMS.
On the way, teachers and students of Ananda Purna School of Sciences offered floral tributes to the mortal remains of Swaminath.
