IDP injured in attack

MOIRANG, Oct 13: A 54-year-old internally displaced person staying at a relief camp in Thanga was hacked and injured on the head by a sharp object today.
The injured has been identified as Takhellambam Pratap and he hails from Phougakchao Ikhai Mamang Leikai, Kumbi AC.
He had been staying at the relief camp opened at  Moirangkhunou Makha Leikai Community Hall, Thanga AC since last year after conflict broke out between Meiteis and Kukis on May 3, 2023.
The person who allegedly attacked him has been identified as Moirangthem Ibomcha Singh (51) of Moirangkhunou Makha Leikai.
The incident occurred at around 10.30 am today.
The two used to work together daily and they were drinking together when the incident occured.
Pratap has been rushed to RIMS Hospital and is receiving treatment.
Police have registered a case.
