IMPHAL, Oct 12 : The semi-final line up of the 23rd Sub Junior Boys State Level Tournament being underway at the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex was completed today with the conclusion of the quarterfinals.
The first quarterfinal match saw AMIMYDO, Mayang Imphal beat SCYC in straight sets (25-18, 25-23, 25-12) to book their semi-final ticket.
In the second quarterfinal match, NYVA, Naorem won 21-25, 25-23, 25-17, 27-25 over DVA, Thoubal to set up a semi-final date with AMIMYDO.
In the third quarterfinal match, YPC, Ishok edged out UKVC, Kamjong 23-25, 25-10, 25-17, 25-18 to earn a semi-final ticket before YGC, Wakhong thumped TRYVC, Ukhrul 25-21, 25-16, 25-22 in the fourth quarterfinal match and set up the semi-final date with YPC.
MPSC cruise to four off four wins in 48th Senior Men's tournament
The day also saw MPSC earn their quarterfinal berth with a group stage (Group B) sweep.
Having registered two of two wins earlier, MPSC edged past CDVA, Chandel 25-9, 20-25, 15-10 for the third win today before thumping AAVA, Andro 25-12, 25-12 for the fourth win on the trot.
In another Group B match, IGO, Oinam beat UKVC, Kamjong 23-25, 25-17, 15-9.
In Group A matches staged today, HVA, Heigrujam beat NDVA, Noney 25-19, 25-18 for the second win in three matches as SCYC, Senjam Chirang beat SDC, Samurou 25-21, 25-15 for the third straight victory. HVA also secured their third win later in the day by defeating YMDO, Heirangoithong 25-20, 25-21.
In the Group C matches, AMIMYDO thumped EAGLE, Ukhrul 25-16, 25-23 for their third straight win as TRYVC, Ukhrul overcame KDVA, Kamjong 25-22, 25-23.
In the Group D matches, NYVA, Naorem beat NSU 25-15, 25-20 before YPC, Ishok prevailed 25-18, 25-11 against MRC, Mairenkhong.
TRYVC ease to third straight win in 48th Senior Women's tournament
TRYVC, Ukhrul posted their third straight win in 48th Senior Women's Tournament Group B competition by defeating NDVA, Noney 25-16, 25-20 today.
In other Group B matches, MPSC thumped KDVA, Kamjong 25-9, 25-13 before defeating CDVA, Chandel 25-12, 25-22 for the second win in three matches.
In Group A matches of the same tournament, SDVA, Senapati beat NSU 25-22, 16-25, 15-6 for the second straight win and SCYC beat NYVA, Naorem 25-15, 25-15 for the second straight win.
