Court grants bail

IMPHAL, Oct 11 : The Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West on Thursday granted bail to a man who was arrested on the charge of abetment of suicide. Laishram Bijoy of Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai was arrested after his wife Khundrakpam ningol Anandi was found hanging in a suspicious manner on September 2 last. An FIR was lodged with Singjamei police station by the father of the deceased seeking thorough investigation into circumstances leading to his daughter's death, following which Bijoy was taken into judicial custody and lodged at Sajiwa Jail. In the hearing yesterday, the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate heard the submission of both the defence counsel and APP representing the State of Manipur and approved the bail application of the accused.
