SDC, KYC-N victorious as IW Super Divn League resumes

IMPHAL, Oct 11 : SDC, Samurou posted their third win as KYC-N, Khurkhul secured first win in two matches in the 24th Super Division Football League which resumed today for the second time at PAMYAL ground, Patsoi.
KYC suffered a 1-3 opening game loss to IFC, pulled off a 3-1 win over YUC, Irom Meijrao today in the 6th match of the tournament being organised by the Imphal West District Football Association.
The two sides were unable to convert their chances in the first half until L Rishikanta opened the scoring in the 48th minute. I Arjun doubled the advantage in the 54th minute before YUC pulled back a goal in the 70th minute.
KYC-N regained their two goal lead with Th Tonshi scoring the team's third in the 81st minute and eventually saw out the game 3-1.
Later in the day, SDC who were awarded a 3-0 win against SFC, Tera in the first match and registered a 2-1 win over CHIKL, Lilong Chajing for the second win extended their winning run to three games as they edged 2-1 past IFC, Lamphel.
IFC, who emerged 3-1 winners against KYC-N in their opening game, were first to score today with Rejoice finding the target in the opening minute itself, but the Samurou side fought back and drew level through H Rakesh in the 43rd minute to enter into the break with the score levelled at 1-1.
It was an open game in the second period with both teams trying to find the difference and it was Y Utam who put SDC ahead in the 78th minute with a clinical finish.
The later period saw SDC trying to add to their tally while IFC struggled to mount their way back and come to level terms. Despite chances, the scoreline remained unchanged and SDC bagged all three points to stay on top of the 6-team league table.
