RIMS cautions

IMPHAL, Oct 11: Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) has urged the public to be cautious of fraudulent job offers and individuals misusing the names of officials for personnel.
A press release issued by  RIMS Media Cell said that RIMS authority received a complaint against one Maibam (Ningol) Loitongbam (ongbi) Somi Devi, w/o of Loitongbam Johnson Singh of Lalambung Takhellambam Leikai saying that she had collected a sum of Rs 52,40,000 from 21 individuals under the pretext of giving jobs at RIMS, Imphal in various posts like Attendant, Mali, Driver, Nurse, Chowkidar etc.  
As per available records at RIMS, Loitongbam (ongbi) Somi Devi was working as Lab Attendant (contract) at Department of Microbiology.
In December 2022, Loitongbam (ongbi) Somi Devi was terminated from the service following an inquiry whereby she was found guilty in a similar case of collecting Rs two lakh from an individual in the pretext of giving job, it said.
It clarified that the present Director of RIMS has no knowledge about the present case. The RIMS authority remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining transparency, integrity and ethical standards in all employment- related matters, it said.
 RIMS authority is initiating necessary legal actions against the present complaint, it said.
It further advised the public to consult the official RIMS website where all advertisements and job opportunities are clearly listed for any information related to recruitment at RIMS, Imphal. It added that any suspicious activities or fraudulent offers should be reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
