Guv, CM send Durga Puja greetings

IMPHAL, Oct 10 : Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister, N Biren Singh have extended greetings to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja.  In his message, the Governor said that Durga Puja is celebrated with great religious fervour and gaiety in Manipur. The festival signifies the triumph of good over evil and people from different walks of life, both young and old, join in the celebration. The festival brings about emotional integrity among the people.  On this joyous occasion, “I call upon all my beloved people to join hands in praying to Goddess Durga, the destroyer of evil and harbinger of peace, for a peaceful and prosperous Manipur.”
Chief Minister, N. Biren Singh also extended his greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja. In his message, the Chief Minister said, the joyous occasion of Durga Puja signifies the triumph of righteousness over evil. The festival signifies that none is above the order of nature and the law of the land, regardless of the power and position he or she occupies. As such, “the festival inspires us to follow the path of righteousness and not to cause harm to other people and the society at large.” He urged the people to refrain from all forms of violence and contribute towards restoring peace and normalcy in the State and strengthen the bond of age-old brotherhood among  different communities in the State.
