Dr Bimol greets people on Irabot Day

IMPHAL, Sep 30: MP Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam has urged people to trace the footprints and follow the path of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot on his 128th birth anniversary.
In his message to the people on the occasion, Dr Bimol said Lamyanba Irabot was a leader who worked for a united Manipur where every community can coexist and prosper.
The present violence and unrest that are being fuelled and driven by forces that seek to suppress Meiteis have threatened to break Manipur which Irabot created, Dr Bimol said.
When the idea of Manipur is being threatened, the State, while having its own Government under the Constitution of India has been reduced to a lesser state which is not able to stand on its own, Dr Bimol said.
At this crucial juncture, the people of the State must trace the footprints of Lamyanba Irabot, remember his thoughts, works and the courage he had, Dr Bimol said, calling on all the people of the State to unitedly face all forces that seek to destroy Manipur.
He wished for the State to return to peace.
