Need to promote Meitei culture highlighted at Centre's 10th foundation day

IMPHAL, Jan 9: Membi  Leima Meitei Culture Research Centre observed  its 10th foundation day at Mittal Shanglen located at Sagolband Salam Leikai Manung Leirak today.
The ceremony was graced by Sougrakpam Hemanta, National Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee; Saikhom (Ongbi) Membi Leima, National Dalit Sahitya Academy Awardee; Maisnam Shivadutta Luwang, secretary Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board; Ranjit Ningthoucha, writer and Director and Mayanglangbam Bhanu Leima as the chief guest, functional president and guests of honour respectively.
The event was kicked off with a presentation of "Sheihou Eshei" by the students of the Centre. In addition, they also presented acts depicting Meitei culture through various day-to-day activities.      
Addressing the gathering, Maisnam Shivadutta Luwang highlighted the importance of promoting one's culture and traditions in the midst of this conflict when there is a breakdown in the social fabric.
In order to succeed in a field it is necessary to have determination and focus as well as the support of family. When whole families work together to champion for Meitei culture, it will bring about progress and development in society, he added.
Maisnam Shivadutta Luwang also urged the Membi  Leima Meitei Culture Research Centre to make concrete efforts towards introducing Meitei culture to the global audience.
