IMPHAL, Jan 2 : Manipur U-17 boys reached the quarter finals of the 67th National School Games football being underway in Port Blair as U-14 taekwondo players picked medals in Taekwondo tournament hosted by Madhya Pradesh in Betul.
Manipur cruised into the U-17 boys football quarter final with a 4-0 win over Maharashtra this morning at Netaji Stadium.
E Nipa (10'), P Raja (48'), L Kangleinganba (59') and Gaelyan Athokpam (75') also found a goal each in this match to earn Manipur a 4-0 win and a place in the quarter finals.
Meanwhile, the State U-14 taekwon team won four medals including two gold medals at Betul, MP.
Heisnam Abdash won a gold medal in the boys' -35 kg category while the other gold medal was won by Ksh Raj Singh in the boys' -41 kg category. Linthoingambi Lourembam bagged a silver medal in the girls' -26 kg category as Th Khagemba settled for a bronze medal in the boys' -41 kg category.
The taekwondo tournament which began on December 31 last will run till January 5.
