The Central Government’s Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) was kicked off at Longmai-3 Multipurpose Hall in Noney district today.
Under the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, District Administration Noney on Sunday took an active part in disseminating welfare measures and utility services in public interest.
At the flagship program, about 22 major departments of the State including various departments such as Education, Health, MSPDCL, PHED, Forests, Social Welfare, DTO, Police etc took part.
During the event, Deputy Commissioner Noney, Joseph Pauline Kamson appealed to the masses present at the gathering to avail maximum benefits of Government schemes.
Meanwhile, the District Health Society opened stalls for the National Leprosy Eradication Program, Immunization, Tuberculosis and Non-Communicable Disease under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer Dr Z Kamei.
The health staff interacted with the public to create awareness about diseases like cancer, leprosy, tuberculosis etc. They also shared knowledge on the benefits of schemes like Ayushman Bharat and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
In addition, the Education Department distributed uniforms, textbooks and whiteboards to the students of Charoi Chakotlong School, Noney Aided School and Makhuam Pt IV UPS School.
107 Battalion Territorial Army also opened stalls that provided facilities of enrolment and awareness programs for Agniveer scheme.
District Level Officers made efforts during the event to ensure delivery of fast services and solution to the queries and concerns of the public besides many on-the-spot resolution of their grievances.
SP Noney N Madhunimai, SDOs, SDCs, ZEO Xavier Longmei, DLOs, other related officials and locals took part in the inaugural VBSY program.
The main motive of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is to raise awareness through outreach activities and achieve saturation of various welfare schemes launched by the Government of India. The second phase of the Yatra for Noney district will be held tomorrow at Nungba.
