6th Khelo India Youth GamesK Abhinash wins fencing gold, four boxers reach semis

IMPHAL, Jan 21 : Fencer K Abhinash secured a gold medal for Manipur in foil competition on Day 3 of the 6th Khelo India Youth Games being underway in Tamil Nadu.
In the boys individual foil final, K Abhinash defeated Tejas Patil 15-9 to seal the gold medal.
Boxing : The day also saw four State boxers- Elangbam Thoicha, Thokchom Supriya, Leichombam Laming and Mayengbam Henthoi reaching semi-finals with quarter final victories.
Elangbam Thoicha reached the 48 kg category semis with a comfortable 5-0 win over Bhawana Sharma of Haryana before Mayengbam Sagar suffered a 4-3 loss to Disha God of Rajasthan in a 50 kg category quarter final bout.
Thokchom Supriya in the meantime got the better of Neha of Chandigarh 5-0 to seal a semi-final berth in the 54 kg  category competition before Leichombam Laming overwhelmed Sikkim's Jayant Dagar 5-0 in another 54 kg category bout and Mayengbam Henthoi cruised 5-0 past Kiran of UP in a 60 kg quarter final clash.
Manipur's Thokchom Tompok also bowed out in the men's 51 kg quarter final after going down in the hands of Sushant Kapoor of Chandigarh.
