Workshop cum production on 'Haoba Konu' wraps up

IMPHAL, Jan 18 : The month-long workshop cum production on women shumang leela folk play "Haoba Konu" conducted by Yangam Leirak Nupi Leela Association, Heirangoi-thong, Imphal West concluded yesterday at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound, Imphal.
The month-long workshop cum production was conducted as a part of Chief Minister-gi Artistesing-gi Tengbang (CMAT) 2022-23 under the aegis of Department of Art & Culture, Government of Manipur.
The closing ceremony was attended by Art & Culture, Deputy Director, G Dharmadas; Manipur State Shumang Leela Council vice president, Ph Gunachandra Sharma; and Sangeet Natak Academy Awardee Shougrakpam Hemanta as presidium members.
At the event, experts/ resource persons called for collective effort to promote & preserve the Women Shumang Leela of Manipur.
They also appealed to all the artists to avail the benefits of CMAT and work sincerely to promote & preserve the traditional art forms of Manipur.
