IMPHAL, Jan 18: MPSC Manipur Central Jail and UCC Kangchup Road beat their opponents today to enter the semi finals of the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2023-24.
In the quarter finals today, MPSC Manipur Central Jail beat KSDO Kiyamgei by 66 runs while UCC Kangchup Road beat Blue Hawk Khurai Lamlong by 8 runs.
In the fist quarter final match of the day at Model Higher Secondary School ground, Blue Hawk won the toss and elected to filed first.
UCC Kangchup Road amassed 122 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Sagolsem Nelson took the most runs, 36, for UCC and remained not out.
Semson Singh Soibam, Jitendra Bishan Thakur and Samsung Meitei Heisnam of Blue Hawk took 2 wickets each.
Blue Hawk's chase, however, fell short of the target and ended up taking 144 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Mintu Chandra and Wakambam Samson Singh took the most runs, 28 and 25 respectively for Blue Hawk.
Laishram Bhuson Singh of UCC took 3 wickets while Leishangthem Bishorjit downed 2 wickets. Teammate Diamond Moirangthem took 1 wicket.
In the second quarter final match, KSDO Kiyamgei won the toss and elected to ball first.
MPSC Central Jail took 127 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.
MPSC's Sarangthem Shangker Singh took 32 runs off 30 balls. Soubam Kingson Singh took 27 runs off 23 balls and Gelson Singh Thoudam scored 22 runs off 19 balls.
KSDO's Lakimbur took 2 wickets while teammates, Shajahan, Khshru Pravez, Md Abdul Razaque, Tarique Aziz and Sagomshumpham Shah Nawaz took one wicket each.
Even as KSDO Kiyamgei tried their best, MPSC's amazing ball and fielding  thwarted all their efforts. KSDO's chase fell short taking only 61 runs for 10 wickets in 14.5 overs.
KSDO's Reehaj took 23 runs off 25 balls.
Maibam Bijoykumar Singh of MPSC shone as he took 5 wickets. Sarangthem Shangker Singh took 2 wickets. Oinam Rojit Singh and Gelson Singh Thoudam took one wicket each.
