Sahitya Akademi announces award winners

The Sahitya Akademi has announced the list of winners of this year's Bal Sahitya Purashkar and Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar.
In the list declared on Friday, Dilip Nongmaithem, a resident of Sagolband Moirang Leirak, Imphal West, was selected for the prestigious Bal Sahitya Purashkar 2023 in Manipuri language for his book "Ibemma Amasung Ngabemma (Stories)".
Dilip Nongmaithem is a retired Assistant Engineer in Public Health Engineering Department, Government of Manipur and a senior lawn tennis player at the national & international level having won various State, National and ITF Tournaments.
Moreover, Parshuram Thingnam has also been selected for the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2023 in Manipuri for his book, "Matamgi Sheireng 37 (Poetry).
The winners of Sahitya Akademi's Bal Sahitya Purashkar and Yuva Purashkar 2023 will receive the awards in the form of a casket containing an engraved copper-plaque and an amount of Rs 50,000 each at a special function to be held later.
