Swachhta Hi Seva campaign: Various activties held across Thoubal

Reaffirming the commitment to make Thoubal District clean and garbage free, awareness campaigns and cleanliness drives were held across the district today.
As a run up to Swachh Bharat Diwas on October 2, the Swachhata Hi Seva 2023 campaign is being organized under District Administration Thoubal in the district, block and panchayat level.
Today a cleanliness drive was held at Lilong CD block with the active participation of many residents and volunteers from the area.
Cleaning activities in and around Lilong Haoreibi College Complex were participated by the teachers and students of the college in coordination with the Lilong Thoubal Municipal Council.
Sanitation workers of the council also cleaned the public toilet at Lilong Ema Market.
Moreover, a tree plantation program was conducted at Lilong Sambrukhong under the Swachhta Hi Seva 2023 action programme of Lilong Municipal Council.
Thoubal Municipal Council also conducted a door to door awareness programme to spread the message of the essence of cleanliness and enrollment drive at Ward No 1 and Ward No 10. The council also organised awareness campaigns and cleanliness drives at Thoubal Wangmataba and Thoubal Okram.
In addition, a cleanliness drive was also held today in all Gram Panchayats' of Thoubal CD Block and Wangjing Tentha CD block where many residents took active part.
Notably, Sikhong Sekmai Municipal Council organised a cleanliness drive at Primary Health Centre, Nongpok Sekmai while Yairipok Municipal Council today conducted a cleanliness drive at Yairipok Bazar.
Employees of the District Transport Office, Thoubal today took part in the cleanliness drive in and around the Office complex.
Officers' and staff of Thoubal PHE Division today conducted a cleanliness drive at Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex where many inmates also participated in the activity.
It is worth noting that the theme of SHS 2023 campaign is "Garbage free India". The fortnightly programme which commenced on September 17,  will conclude on October 2.
