Imphal, Sep 24 : Chief Minister N Biren Singh distributed one-time financial assistance of Rs 5,000 each to select beneficiaries under a special scheme for education of children of labour card holders staying at relief camps.
The distribution programme held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat today was organized by Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
After distributing the financial assistance, the Chief Minister interacted with the beneficiaries who are currently staying at relief camps.
Water Resources Minister Awangbow Newmai, Chairperson of Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board  K Saratkumar Singh and other officials also attended the programme among others.
Under the special scheme, a one-time financial assistance of Rs 5000 shall be provided for education of children to every family having a valid labour card and staying at relief camps set up by the Government.
