IMPHAL, Sep 19: Centre for Human Rights & Duties Education, Manipur University and Ojha Sanajaoba Memorial Trust (OSMT) yesterday jointly organised a 1-day dialogue on "Idea of Manipur : A Historical Legacy of an Asiatic Civilization" at the Conference Hall of Department of Commerce, Manipur University.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Manipur University, Vice Chancellor Prof N Lokendra opined that it is important for the present generation to read the books written by Ojha Sanajaoba, review and analyse them to see the difference in the socio-political economy he had emphasised and the changing socio-political economy of Manipur.
Former Head, Department of Political Science, MU & Trustee, OSMT, retired Prof K Ibo Singh and Dean of Social Science & Head, Centre of Human Rights and Duties Education, MU, Prof Th Purnima Devi also attended the event.
The first session was chaired by former Dean, School of Human & Environmental Sciences, MU, retired Prof W Nabakumar while former Dean, School of Social Science, MU, retired Prof N Joykumar chaired the second session.
