Drugs worth Rs 87.84 Cr seized

AIZAWL, Sep 13 : In one of the biggest drug busts in Mizoram, Assam Rifles personnel recovered a huge consignment of Methamphe-tamine and heroin worth Rs 87.84 crore in Champhai district, near the India-Myanmar border on Tuesday.
A press statement released by Assam Rifles on Wednesday stated that the seizure included 2 lakh Methamphetamine tablets, with an estimated value of Rs 60 crore, and 3.978kg of heroin, valued at Rs 27.84 crore.
These substances were recovered along the Zo-khawthar to Melbuk Road. According to the statement, the drug traffickers employed Chinese-made Kenbo motorcycles to transport the contraband. The traffickers managed to escape. All the confiscated drugs have been handed over to the Zokhawthar police station.  NE Live
