IMPHAL, Aug 2 : The management committee of Kindergarten Montessori School has appealed to all concerned to kindly release Phijam Hemanjit and Hijam Luwangbi Linthoingambi to their parents if they are being held hostage by any community.
Hemanjit, son of Phijam Ibungobi and Phijam ongbi Birohini Devi of Takyel Kolom Leikai and Luwangbi Linthoingambi, daughter of Hijam Kullajit and Hijam ongbi Jayashree Devi of Tera Tongbram Leikai have been missing since July 6 after they went out together.
Speaking to media persons during a press meet convened at the auditorium of the Kindergarten Montessori School, Principal of the school Dr Longjam Dhaneshwar appealed for the release of the children on humanitarian ground if any community is holding them hostage till today.
The Principal said Phijam Hemanjit is a class XII student of his school (Kindergarten Montessori School). He is a very soft spoken and gentle student and the uncertainty of his whereabouts for nearly a month has left everyone in the School, his family and friends worried, restless and in agony, he added.
"If these students are being held captive in the name of the ongoing communal tension, then it is our earnest appeal to the captors to release them safely for the sake of humanity and considering the pain the guardians of the two students are going through," he continued.
