IMPHAL, Aug 1: With the goal of establishing peace and harmony in trouble-torn Manipur, a delegation of the North East Students' Organization (NESO) arrived at Imphal Airport today.
Volunteers of Manipur NESO accorded a warm welcome to the NESO delegation upon their arrival.
Speaking on the occasion, NESO, Chairman Samuel Jyrwa stated that due to the violence which has erupted since May 3 between the two communities, people have been faced with insurmountable hardships.
On behalf of NESO, he conveyed deep sorrow over the atrocities and suffering that have been inflicted on the people.
He also maintained that the main goal of the NESO delegation is to help in restoring peace and harmony in violence-affected Manipur.
Visiting the relief camps at Churachandpur and meeting with the CSOs as well as assessing the condition of the inmates at the relief camp in Akampat, Imphal are on the itinerary for the NESO delegation, he shared. Further, he assured to provide all help possible to bring Manipur on the path to normalcy.
