Ukhrul MLA Ramnganing Muivah inaugurates multiple projects worth Rs 5.48 crore

UKHRUL, Aug 17: Ukhrul MLA Ramnganing Muivah inaugurated multiple projects worth Rs 5.48 crore in Ukhrul district today.
Attending as the chief guest, MLA Ramnganing Muivah unveiled the memorial stone, cut the ribbon and inaugurated the newly constructed Synthetic Football Turf in the presence of Ukhrul Deputy Commissioner Zuringla Kengoo; Superintendent of Police Ukhrul Ningsem Vashum; Chipemmi Keishing Airport Director, Airports Authority of India, Imphal and Langdang village Headman.
On a separate occasion, the MLA inaugurated the Subji Mandi/ marketing complex Block A, B and C constructed at Wino Bazar and Viewland of Ukhrul town.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, the MLA stated that plans are underway for construction of SAI Sports Complex at Ukhrul District with the primary objective of providing the facilities of sport education to the youths for all sports disciplines.
He also recalled renowned sports personalities of the district.
He further appealed to the youths to embrace various forms of sports disciplines to retain the glorious sports legacy of the district which is diminishing.
Meanwhile, Ukhrul DC Zuringla Kengoo highlighted the Government's initiative to provide various opportunities so as to support the youths through systematic intervention.
The facilities of synthetic football turf and marketing complex is to create an avenue to explore the potential of the youths in different fields in order to excel and compete at higher level, she added.
Chipemmi Keishing Airport Director, Airports Authority of India, Imphal international Airport who attended as the guest of honour educated the public about the projects and programmes that can be executed through Corporate Social Responsibility for developing the areas.
Lily Rose Jajo District Project Director (DPD) UDCRMS Ukhrul while speaking at the occasion highlighted the activities that were taken in the district since 1999.
Strategic planning is underway to take up more productive programmes, she said.
The Synthetic Football Turf and Recreation Centre were constructed at the cost of Rs 1.35 crore at Langdang village while the project Subji Mandi/ Marketing Complex Block A, B and C at Wino bazar and Viewland was constructed at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore through NEC in Ukhrul town. The above projects were funded by Airports Authority of India under CSR fund  and were implemented by Ukhrul District Community Resource Management Society (UDCRMS/NERCORMP).
