51st installation ceremony of Rotary Club of Imphal held

IMPHAL, Jul 3
The 51st Installation Ceremony of Rotary Club of Imphal, RID-3240 for Rotary Year 2023-24 was organised at Rotary Bhavan, Mantripukhri on Sunday with Dr Sinam Rajendra Singh, past assistant governor, as the chief guest of the solemn function.
During the programme, Dr Sanjib Nepram and Pradeep Kumar Jain were installed as president and secretary of Rotary Club of Imphal for the Rotary Year 2023-24 along with new Board of Directors, said a release issued by Rotary Club of Imphal.
The theme of this Rotary year is "Create Hope in the World".
During the event, Dr Sinam Rajendra released the annual souvenir ‘MANIPADMA’.
Various vocational awards were also distributed including Late Akham Ibochouba Memorial Award for "Meritorious Civil Constable of the year" to Thongam Mangaljit Singh, Late Shripal Chand Jain Memorial Award for "Rotary Fireman of the year" to W Basanta Singh, Late M Ibobi Memorial Award for "Rotary Traffic Police of the Year" to Oinam Shyam kumar Singh, Late Th Ibomcha Singh Memorial Award for "Rotary Nurse of the Year" to Yumnam Binashakhi Devi, Late Shri Jhoomarmal Kashliwal Memorial Award for "Rotary Journalist of the Year" to Niranjan Oinam of ‘The Peoples’ Chronicle’, Rotarian Bijay Jain Memorial Award for "Rotary Sports person of the Year" to Nameirakpam Tomchou Meetei (Weightlifting), Late Sinam Tomchou Singh Memorial Distribution of Hearing Aids to five needy persons and Late Shri Om Prakash Gulati Memorial Wheelchair was given to Laiphrakpam Megha Singh of Langthabal.
Later, a new Board of Directors was administered oath by the installation officer, Pramod Chhabra.
