H Malemnganba, Leonie Tayenjam win U-19 singles titles

IMPHAL, Jul 29 : H Malemnganba of Bishnupur district and Imphal West's Leonie Tayenjam were crowned U-19 boys and girls singles champions in the 67th State Open Badminton Championships organised by the Manipur Badminton Association at its indoor hall at DMU campus.
In the U-19 boys singles final, Malemnganba overcame Imphal East's Jomi Singam 21-20, 23-21 in the title clash today while Leonie got the better of compatriot Chanulembi Sapam  21-16, 21-8 in the U-19 girls singles final.
H Rohenkumar and RK Alen of Bishnupur district also won the U-19 boys doubles crown by securing a 21-16, 21-19 win over IW-Bpr pair of Borish Salam and Brikson L in the final today.
The day also saw M Suraj of Imphal West district sealing the U-13 boys singles title with a 21-17, 18-21, 21-18 win over S Pinibash of Thoubal district in the final.
