MLA Rameshwar inspects construction of temporary houses at Yaithibi Loukon

THOUBAL, Jul 12: A team led by Kakching Assembly Constituency MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar inspected the ongoing construction of temporary resettlement houses at Yaithibi Loukon today.
This housing complex will provide shelter to the internally displaced people currently seeking refuge at Kakching and Thoubal relief camps.
The inspection team consisted of the MLA Rameshwar; Ahanthem Subash, DC Thoubal; Kakching DC Somorjit Salam; Thoubal SP Sachidananda Soibam; Kakching SP Thokchom Bikramjit and other key officials.
Speaking to media persons from the sideline of the inspection visit, M Rameshwar said that the State Government's initiative of constructing this housing complex is targetted to be completed within two weeks. He also assured to make arrangements for proper transportation of children with regards to their educational needs.
"The Government is pouring all its efforts to make sure that displaced families have a source of livelihood so that they can return to their normal lives", he added, as he spoke about the loss of livelihood that thousands of people have faced.
It may be noted that M/S BTC Company, Thangal Bazar  is undertaking the task of constructing 400 houses, 200 for Kakching and another 200 houses for Thoubal district inmates, at Yaithibi Loukon.
According to a statement from MLA Rameshwar's office, during the inspection, the MLA also made appeals to the relevant authorities to facilitate proper supply of water and electricity in the temporary houses and further appealed to repair the approach road so that the IDPs can move in as soon as construction is completed.
