Miscreants set ablaze garbage trucks

IMPHAL, Jun 30 : Unidentified miscreants burnt at least two garbage trucks parked at Keishamthong Ningthou Leirak on the side of Nambul River this wee hours of today.
Of the two garbage trucks, one is a Tata (Tipper) 407 while the other is Tata Magic Hopper, both bearing Manipur registration number.
The two vehicles belong to MS Khaba Waste Management System Manipur.
Owner of the vehicles Leishangthem Premjit has lodged a complaint to Imphal police station.
Speaking to the media, L Premjit said that he parked the two vehicles at Keishamthong Moirangpurel after taking due approval from the local club.
Saying that he has the CCTv footage of some people torching the two vehicles at around 2 am today, Premjit continued that miscreants attacking private properties by taking advantage of the situation in Manipur is unfortunate.
Asking what harm he has done to the society by collecting household garbage, Premjit said that he too has been taking part in the movement to protect Manipur.
He then appealed to the State Government to find the miscreants and book them.
Several local clubs and meira paibi lups of Keishamthong have also condemned the incident.
