Apunba Keithel Sinnaibi Lup, Kangleipal (AKSIL), Life Savers Manipur (LISAM) and Sports Association for the Visually Impaired (SAVI) jointly organised a voluntary blood donation camp today at the Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS Hospital, Imphal in collaboration with the Department, State Blood Cell-NHM Manipur and SBTC Manipur and HDFC Bank.
The camp was held on the theme "Kangleipak Imagidamak Kat Thoklaba Ee '' and in connection with the 143rd birth anniversary celebration of Helen Keller, said media advisor of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in a statement.
During the programme, secretary of AKSIL, Konthoujam Prabha stated that the purpose of the camp is to ensure steady supply blood particularly for those people injured during the ongoing ethnic violence.
More than 20 emas including the executive members of AKSIL and others, donated blood during the camp, it said.
Prof G Sunilkumar Sharma, Director, RIMS and Prof N Sanjib, Medical Superintendent, RIMS also attended the blood donation camp, it added.
30 youths of Oinam Sawombung Awang Leikai also donated blood at RIMS yesterday to help meet the blood requirement at the hospital and for those who injured during the recent violent conflicts in the State.
