IMPHAL, Jun 25 : The War on BJP Non Violence Campaign Committee, an association of ex-members of various BJP Mandals in Manipur, today requested the present members of BJP to resign from the party.
Addressing a press conference today at Manipur Press Club, Chingangbam Nandalal Angomcha, convenor of the committee shared that their anger towards the Government's incompetence in protecting its people on May 3 is still ablaze.
Expressing indignation over MLAs only being concerned for their own survival amidst the all-consuming flames of the ongoing crisis, Nandalal alleged that the Peace Committee formed shortly after the departure of Union Home Minister Amit Shah from the State has also failed to find a solution due to a hidden agenda.
Questioning the ruling Government's mantra of Nation First, Party Second, Nandalal said, "The Prime Minister of India disregarded the appeals for appointments regarding the present crisis made by leaders and MLAs of Manipur in Delhi and instead went for foreign tour to talk about yoga".
Propounding the complicity of the Rapid Action Force and Assam Rifles deployed by the Central Government in the ongoing violence, he asked whether the Motherland or Party holds more importance to the BJP.
Highlighting that the committee came about due to the BJP's incompetency, Nandalal on behalf of the committee declared that the motherland will always be more important than the party and further reasoned their duty of having given up their party membership as of Sunday.
Sharing that the voice of the people is the voice of God, he appealed to all the people of Manipur to formally resign from their posts in BJP.
"If a second war arises, the houses of all the Ministers of Manipur should be used as relief camps for the displaced at any cost", he added.
Chingangbam Nandalal Angomcha further listed a number of demands including implementation of NRC in Manipur and removal of militant groups which have violated the guidelines of SoO pact.
