Mayang Langjing relief camp in need of immediate attention

IMPHAL, May 7 : Victims of the ongoing conflict, who are taking shelter at the relief camp established in Mayang Langjing Maning Leikai Taning have been facing a number of issues including lack of food and other essential items.
A large number of people mostly women and children are currently staying at the relief camp opened by Taning Development Club (TDC).
People from Senjam Chirang, Kadangband, Lairen Sajik and Phumlou are taking shelter in the camp after being displaced due to the unfortunate communal clash between the Meitei and Kuki communities.
The camp has been functioning with monetary aid and donation from the club and villagers of the area so far.
However, due to limited resources, the camp is facing shortage of food, clothes and other essential items.
TDC has appealed to the State Government to consider the suffering of the people who are taking refuge in the camp and provide necessary assistance.
TDC has also appealed to the public to extend voluntary aid including clothes, edible items and monetary donation for the victims of the unfortunate conflict.
