Peace Committe, Lilong appeals for mass prayer

In view of the prevailing tumultuous situation, Peace Committee, Lilong has made an appeal to all masjids of the State to hold a mass prayer (dua) on May 26 after Juma Namaz (Friday prayer).
In a statement, Peace Committee, Lilong expressed anguish over the violence which erupted in teh State since May 3.
The Committee also highlighted the loss of lives and properties suffered by people of both communities as a result of the communal flare-up.
Restoring what has been lost from this State will take years, if not decades, the statement said.
Peace Committee, Lilong called upon the State administration to take up definitive steps to restore peace and ensure that such horrific clashes do not occur again.
The Committee further urged people of both communities to rein in their emotions of anger, discontent etc and take the responsibility of bringing peace in the State.
Further, it appealed to the State Government to assist the victims of violence while also encouraging intercommunal acts of kindness and assistance to those suffering the brunt of the clashes.
