Mid-Day Meal workers demand wage hike

IMPHAL, Apr 30: On May Day eve, the All Manipur Mid-Day Meal Workers' Union has urged the Government to increase the monthly honorarium/minimum wage of all labourers including mid-day meal workers to Rs 700.
The decision to demand an increase in the minimum wage was taken during a meeting of the union held at its office at Paona Bazar today, it said in a statement.
Demanding increment of the minimum wage, mid-day meal workers in all districts would be staging demonstrations at their respective places holding placards and banners, said the union.
