Khoisnam Birola appointed Manipuri Language Advisory Board member

THOUBAL, Apr 2 : Khoisnam (o) Birola has been appointed as a member of Manipuri Language Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi for the tenure 2023-27.
Khoisnam Birola is the first woman from Tripura to be appointed as a member of Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.
She was born on December 25, 1978 in Gournagar, Tripura.
She has published a number of books including, "Praloygee Khutshokta" in 2012 and "Imada Iba Chithi" in 2021.
She is also a member of Manipuri Literary & Cultural Forum, Tripura. She was the editor of the book "Takhellei Nachom" published by the forum.
She was awarded the "Moirangthem Leihao Tembi Ningsing Sahitya Mana 2013" by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Tripura for her book, "Praloygee Khutshokta"; and the "Kshetri Nalini Memorial Literary Award 2022" by Sahitya Seva Samiti, Kakching for the book "Imada Iba Chithi".
Khoisnam Birola was also conferred the "Akhang Kanbi Meitei Leima Life time Achievement Award" by Ipak Films Production, Imphal for her contributions in the field of art & culture and public service.
