Lai Haraoba commences

TPL/BPR Apr 23: The customary celebration of Ima Kondong Lairembi Haraoba has kicked off today at Moreh.
The inaugural ceremony of the 10-day festival saw many "amaiba, amaibis" (local shamans) carrying out the "Lai Ikouba" ritual.
Residents of five different Meitei localities participated in today's ceremony. Moreh Police were also present in the area to ensure that the festival commences without any hiccups.
Separately, the Ibudhou Moirang Thangjing Haraoba has also kicked off today with a "Lai Ikouba" ritual.
It was organized by Ibudhou Thangjing Seva Mandal Moirang, Phamnaiba Phamnaibi Cheirap Loishang and Amaiba Amaibi Loishang.   
The festival will conclude on May 24.
