'Saroi Khangba' rituals performed

The traditional rituals of 'Saroi Khangba' was held widely today, which is the first Saturday of Lamda month of the Manipuri lunar calendar.
It may be noted that Saroi Khangba rituals are usually performed during the 'Lamda' month to appease the evil spirits.
Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board (LSTB) performed the first Saroi Khangba rituals today morning at Khurai Ahongpung, Tera Wangthonbipung, Kongba Sadoupung and Kakwa Lamdaipung for the peace and prosperity of the State.
LSTB in a press release informed that the rituals were held in the presence of prominent members of the Board led by its vice-president Bidyapati Senjam (Wakhal Lamjingba) and Maiba Sanglakpa Salam Mani.
Meanwhile Uttra Shanglen Sana Konung also performed Saroi Khangba rituals today attended by the eminent members of Uttra Shanglen including Angom Ningthou Sana Konung, Pana Lakpa among others.
Also a special ritual for the peace of the State and long life of its people was held today at Chingu Thong Meitei Laikol Thalo Sipi Lok Seloi Langmai Ching, Imphal Nongpok (Yaralpat).
