CHD/SPI, Feb 17 : Manipur Information Commission in association with District Administration Chandel today organised a 1-day training cum awareness programme on RTI Act, 2005 at the Conference Hall of DC Office, Chandel.
With the increasing numbers of RTI applications and RTI activists in the State, the training cum awareness programme was conducted to sensitise Government officials and public on ways to prevent and deal with the misuse of RTI Act that aims to promote transparency & accountability in the working of the Government.
In the event, State Chief Information Commissioner, Manipur Information Commission, Oinam Sunil Singh delivered a lecture on the topic, "RTI Vs RTP (Right to Privacy) and its present trends in the country".
Deputy Commissioner Chandel, Mayanglambam Rajkumar spoke on "Problems and issues face by SPIOs/Public authorities while implementing RTI Act, 2005" while Deputy Registrar (Judicial), Inao Singh elaborated on "Roles of SPIOs in implementation of RTI Act, 2005".
Joint Secretary, Manipur Information Commission, G Shanti Kumat Kabui delivered the keynote address and Additional Deputy Commissioner Chandel, Md. Firoj Khan proposed the vote of thanks.
Moreover, District Food Safety Administration, Senapati organised awareness programmes on "Food Fortification" at CMO Conference Hall, Senapati and Maram Centre Community Hall.
At the event, L Johnny, Designated Officer, Food Safety Administration, Senapati spoke on the theme, "Fortification and its meaning, fortified food, micronutrient, staple foods, standard on fortification, general obligations, standard for fortification of foods and standards for fortified processed foods".
He also elaborated on the symptoms of micronutrient deficiencies.
Staff of District Supply Officer, ZEO, ICDS, Fair Price Shop agents, food business operators and town committee of the District took part in the event.
