TRAU upstage MPSC by 7 wickets in Elite Tournament

IMPHAL, Feb 15 : TRAU-Kwakeithel opened their winning account in the 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament with a 7-wicket thrashing of MPSC today here at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
TRAU won the toss and bundled out MPSC for 113 runs in 39.1 overs after choosing to field first and chased down the target in 30.5 overs for their first win in two matches.
MPSC, who beat RULE by 8 wickets in their campaign opener, struggled to find their rhythm from the beginning of their innings and crashed to 113 all out despite Sagolshem Sunil's slow but significant 97-ball 53.
TRAU's Abdul Kasim (3/14 in 8 overs) and Dr Siddharth Shah (3/24 in 7.1 overs) enjoyed three wicket hauls in this innings as Anand Naorem picked two and Priyojit claimed one.
In reply, Karnajit Yumnam scored an unbeaten 58 off 83 balls to steer TRAU to winning 114 in 30.5 overs. Rahul Raj Kumar (21) and Pukhrambam Prafullomani (15 not out) also added double digit runs to TRAU's tally.
Keisham Kenedy, Sarangthem Shangker and Potsangbam Bonem of MPSC claimed a wicket each in a lost cause.
Abdul Kasim who grabbed three wickets in his spell of 8 overs was adjudged man of the match.
CHAMP will play RULE in the next match tomorrow.
