IMPHAL, Feb 13 : CYCLONE-Thangmeiband notched up a huge 8 wicket win over SCCC-Singjamei in the 5th match of the 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament today at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangsangbam.
SCCC slumped to 148 all out in 35.2 overs after electing to bat first and CYCLONE rode on half centuries from Loktongbam Santosh and Aditya Pradad to seal the 8 wicket win.
SCCC had a stuttering start and were reduced to 63 for 3 after 16 overs as Thounaojam Jenius bowled out Ulenyai Khwairakpam for 4 and Aditya Das bowled out Jali Ahmed  Chisti for 24 runs and Lishan Meitei Khaidem for 16 runs.
After Rahul Chanda was trapped lbw on 14 runs for the fourth wicket, Laishram Ronson gave SCCC a brief reprieve, forging a 47 run partnership with Sandeep Chakraborty.
However Bikash Singh broke the partnership by setting up Sandeep catch behind the wicket for 14 runs and L Ronson fell for the 6 wicket for the highest 43 runs.
The downfall quickened as Jenius completed his two wicket haul by trapping Basanta lbw for the 7th wicket and Kishan Laishram swept the 8th and the 9th wickets cheaply before Bikash Singh undone Rakeshwor Republic Hidangmayum for the last wicket in the 36th over to restrict SCCC to 148 runs.
In reply, CYCLONE got off to a flying start with the opening pair of Loktongbam Santosh Meitei and Aditya Prasad punishing the SCCC bowlers to forge a 143 run partnership before Santosh was caught out by Oinam Pradeep for 70 runs in the 25th over.
CYCLONE lost Ronald for a 9-ball duck at 148 runs in the fifth delivery of the 28th over but Rohit Singh Moirangthem who came in for him struck a four to finish off the chase with Aditya Prasad, who was an unbeaten 66 off 89 balls, on the other end of the crease.
Loktongbam Santosh was eventually adjudged man of the match.
