Khelo India Youth GamesState eves beat WB to clinch football title, M Martina wins weightlifting gold

IMPHAL, Feb 10 : Manipur eves ended title drought at the Khelo India Youth Games by beating West Bengal 1-0 in the title clash today.
The winner was scored by O Babita in the 69th minute after the two sides played out a barren first half.
The day also saw Manipur's M Martina win a gold medal in women's +81 kg weightlifting competition.
Martina recorded 88 kg in snatch after starting her attempt at 82 kg and managed 111 kg in clean and jerk to amass 199 kg and become outright winners. Second placed K Oviya of Tamil Nadu posted a total of 174 kg (78 in snatch and 96 in clean and jerk) as Abhishiktha Kaduluri of Odisha finished third with a total lift of 165 kg (72 in snatch and 93 in clean and jerk).
In fencing, Manipur's girls foil team of W Sonia, Dayarani N, Somrin Alice and Anjali also bagged a gold medal.
With State Thang-Ta players winning 5 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals, Manipur are in the 7th position with a total of 33 medals including 12 gold, 9 silver and 12 bronze medals
