CRPF conducts civic action programmes

32 Bn CRPF handed over computer systems with all accessories to Thoibi Thang-Ta Cultural Association, Okshongbung, Moirang in Bishnupur district and sewing machines with stand (pedaling type) to the Indigenous Peoples' Organization, Upper Komkeirap in Churachandpur district.
The above items were distributed during a civic action programme held at Unit HQ/32 Bn CRPF, Komkeirap today organised by 32 Bn CRPF under the aegis of Manipur and Nagaland Sector, said a press note by the Commandant, 32 Bn CRPF.
The programme was attended by H Ranjit Singh, Commandant 32 Bn CRPF; Rajesh Kumar, 2IC, 32 Bn CRPF, officers, jawans and members of Thoibi Thang-Ta Cultural Association and Indigenous Peoples' Organization.
Addressing the gathering, H Ranjit Singh highlighted that the civic action programme is a welfare measure for the local people thereby bridging the gap between the security forces and civilians.
It is an ongoing attempt to bring qualitative change in the lives of the local population, he said.
He stressed that CRPF is totally committed towards its social obligations and will continue to carry out similar civic action programmes in future and will make all best possible efforts to improve the living standard of the local people.
Tamenglong
On the other hand, 143 Battalion CRPF conducted a civic action programme at the Mini Secretariat in Tamenglong Headquarters today where sewing machines were distributed to underprivileged rural women of Farmlane village.
The sewing machines were distributed with the aim of generating their own income and become self-reliant, said a press release by the Commandant, 143 Bn CRPF.
The sewing machines were distributed by 143 Bn CRPF Assistant Commandant, Santhosh PT; Company Commander of E/143 Bn and Dett Commander, Ksh Binodkumar in the presence of Akhiuana, Village Chairman of Farmlane, Ward 7.
Speaking at the occasion, Ksh Binodkumar said that through civic action programmes, 143 Bn CRPF has been trying to address the needs of the locals so as to maintain a close relation between the civilians and security forces, he added.
The locals of the area also expressed gratitude to 143 Bn CRPF for conducting such welfare activities in the interest of the common people.
