A Career Guidance and Counselling Programme was conducted under the College Students Mentoring Initiative (COSMI) at the College Conference Hall of Oriental College (Autonomous), Takyel, Imphal on Saturday.
The event, sponsored by the Directorate of University & Higher Education, Government of Manipur, was jointly organised by Career Counselling, Guidance, and Placement Cell of Oriental College in association with Helping Hands Career & IT Solutions Pvt Ltd Imphal (HHCITS), said a release issued by Oriental College.
The programme was inaugurated by Sapam Kunjakeswor Singh (Keba), MLA Patsoi AC and Dr S Ranjit Singh, Principal of Oriental College.
M Lokendro Singh, president AMCTA & HOD, Department of Chemistry, Oriental College; Ch Somorendra Singh, Coordinator, IQAC, Oriental College; and Dr G Ranita Devi, Dean of Arts and Chairperson of Career Counselling, Guidance, and Placement Cell also attended the programme as presidium members.
In the technical sessions, Kongkham Biplob Singha, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of COSMI Programme spoke at length on the topic, “From Classroom to Career: Finding Your Passion and Purpose” while Ch Ronika Devi, general manager HHCITS deliberated on the topic, “Exploring Career Scopes in Private Sector: Aviation, Hospitality, BPO and management”.
The COSMI Programme successfully equipped attendees with crucial insights, advice, and mentorship, empowering them to make informed decisions about their academic and professional pursuits. The impact of this initiative promises to resonate positively in the lives and careers of the participants.
The event which was attended by more than hundred students, teachers and staff witnessed engaging discussions, mentoring sessions, and resourceful guidance aimed at shaping the futures of enthusiastic students.
