Veteran Cricket : YUCC thump YCC by 15 runs for second straight win

IMPHAL, Dec 24 : YUCC-Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai eased to second straight Group B win in the 20th Maipur Veteran Cricket Tournament by beating YCC- Wangkhei by 15 runs at Langthabal Public Ground.
YUCC elected to bat first and racked up 187 runs for 2 wickets and held YCC to 172/7 for the victory.
Md Noushad Ali (84-ball 62) and H Sunil (59-ball 60 not out) blasted off half centuries to help YUCC amassed the moderate total as Th Santosh contributed 20 runs.
Bindeshwor and Everest of YCC picked up a wicket apiece in this innings before they gathered 172 runs in the chase which saw Manikumar 2/28 and Himat 2/34 claiming two wickets each.
Gobin 38 off 50 balls and Robinchandra 48 off 49 gave YCC a steady start to the chase but the middle order faltered and eventually they slumped at 172/7. Md Noushad who added the highest 62 for YUCC was adjudged man of the match. With the win, YUCC inched closer to the quarter-final stage but YCC are literally out of the tournament with two losses in three games.
CHAMP will play KCC in the next match tomorrow.
