Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra kicks off at Thoubal

THOUBAL, Dec 21: The launching programme of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra for Thoubal district was held today at the office complex of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Thoubal.
The programme was organised by KVK Thoubal in collaboration with the District Administration Thoubal under the sponsorship of the District Fisheries Office, Thoubal.
With the aim of raising mass awareness about the various  schemes and initiatives of the Government intended for far reaching impact, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra  launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 15 and will continue till January 15 across the country.
As a part of the programme, eminent officers of various Governmental Departments of the district presented reports on the welfare initiatives taken up by their respective department for the welfare of the public.
Speaking as the chief guest, MGNREGA Thoubal, Chief Executive Officer, Ksh Umananda said that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra for Thoubal district will be held till December.
He further informed that the main objective of the campaign is to sensitize the masses about the numerous welfare schemes taken up by the Government for the well-being of the people  and to ensure that the benefits of these schemes are availed by the rightful beneficiaries.
A large number of farmers from different places across the district participated in the launching programme.
Akoijam Deben who is into agricultural activities from Thoubal Wangmataba apprised the gathering that he has been able to take up farming activities successfully by availing the benefits of the flagship and welfare schemes launched by the Government.
He expressed gratitude to the Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, KVK and Central Agricultural University for supporting the farmers.
By putting in the best efforts in farming activities by making best use of the opportunities that come along, Deben said that he is able to earn around Rs 15 lakhs annually.
