IMPHAL, Dec 20 : Manipur U-14 girls team emerged champions of the 67th National School Games Sepak Takraw held in Delhi under the supervision of the School Games Federation of India. Manipur U-14 boys' team in the meantime settled for the third place.
In the women's final Manipur defeated Andhra Pradesh 23-21, 21-15 to seal the top honour. Nagaland and hosts Delhi finished third and fourth in the competition.
The boys team however had to settle for the third place after they were allegedly subjected to face semi-final defeat against Delhi despite performing well.
Fumed over the 'unfair' conduct of technical officials during the play which favoured Delhi boys, State team officials lodged a complaint surrounding the issue to the School Games Federation of India.
It is learnt that the State officials have urged the federation concerned to avoid such a scene in the future and employ well qualified technical officials to officiate such National level competitions in the future in their complaint.
