Ukhrul, Dec 1 : Ukhrul police have taken up due security arrangements to arrest the miscreants who looted over Rs 18 crore from the district branch of Punjab National Bank yesterday, said SP Ningshem Vashum.
Speaking to the media today, Ningshem Vashum continued that five mobile check posts have been set up at the strategic locations of the district to arrest the looters.

He further said that they are in constant touch with Senapati police too to make sure the looters don't escape.
No one has been arrested in connection with the bank robbery case as of yet.
Police said that the looters while directing some bank employees who were inside the bank for their unfinished work last evening, spoke in Nagamese, Meiteilon and Tangkhul language.
IG Zone III Nishitu Jawar, DIG Range IV Worngam Ningshen also arrived at Ukhrul and held a closed door meeting with Ukhrul SP, Commandant of 6th MR and other high ranking officials at the SP Chamber.
According to sources available to this correspondent, the Ukhrul police have taken statements from the security personnel and  staff of PNB Ukhrul regarding the case, after interrogating them.
A case has been registered at Ukhrul police station.
Meanwhile, the Ukhrul Autonomous District Council (UADC) has condemned the bank loot.
Ukhrul ADC Caretaker Chairman A Mark Luithing Phungthar stated that the PNB bank has been functioning as the main artery of all the banking systems and services in the district.
Saying that the looting of the large chunk of money from PNB Ukhrul branch has besmirched the reputation of Ukhrul Town, he continued that the 'abominable' act which is totally alien to their culture was done under full public glare just when the Christian dominated community is anxiously waiting for the advent of Christmas.
He then urged the law-enforcing authorities to expeditiously trace the culprits and arrest them.
