Khwairakpam Amarjit wins silver in All India Sub-Jr Ranking Badminton

IMPHAL, Nov 8 : The pair of qualifier Khwairakpam Amarjit and Kerala's Nandita Thomas won the U-17 mixed silver medal at the All India Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton underwa at Vijayawada under the aegis of the Badminton Association of India.
Amarjit-Nandita pair went down 15-21, 12-21 to Pondicherry-Tamil Nadu pair of Mithileish PK and Varna P in the final to settle for the silver medal.
 Amarjit and Nandita made it to the final beating Daksh Kharb and Saanvi Aneja 21-18, 21-18 in the semis.
Earlier in the first round, the duo defeated Trilok Akula and Bhavitha Shree Challa 21-14, 21-13 and sealed a 13-21, 21-12, 21-11 win over Malsawmhlua and Ananya A in the second round to enter quater finals.
In the quarter final, Amarjit and Nandita overcame Yogansh and Ishita Negi 21-15, 19-21, 21-18 to book a place in the semi-final.
