BT University observes 1st Convocation ceremony

IMPHAL, Nov 7 : The first Annual Convocation of the graduating students of Bir Tikendrajit University was held on November 5  at the Maharaja Gambhir Singh Memorial Hall of Bir Tikendrajit University, Imphal.
The convocation saw the graduation of 91 students of which 79 received their degree in person.
The ceremony began with an academic procession led by the protocol officer, Dr Wahengbam.
Chancellor of the University, Professor BN Mishra delivered the convocation address as the chief guest of the ceremony.
Former Chairman of Manipur Public Service Commission retired Lieutenant General L Nishikanta Singh, Dhanamanjuri University Vice-Chancellor Professor N Rajmuhon Singh, Director & CEO of Karkinos Manipur Cancer Care Institute and Research Centre Dr GS Moirangthem, Churachandpur Medical College Director Dr S Iboyaima Singh and general secretary BJP Manipur P Premananda Meitei attended the ceremony as the guests of honour.
Anuj Goel, Chairman of the sponsoring body, Members Pradeep Aggarwal and Abhay Raj Aggarwal, Dr JP Sharma, Group Director of Bir Tikendrajit University; and other delegates were present at the function.
Professor BN Mishra in his convocation address congratulated the graduating students and urged them to use their education for the betterment of society.
He highlighted the role of education in human development and identity formation in a changing world.
The delegates while congratulating the graduating students, shared their valuable life experiences at the event. They emphasised on the role of privatisation in the education sector in fulfilling the wishes of society.
Vice Chancellor of Bir Tikendrajit University, Professor AK Choudhary presented the annual report and achievements of the varsity.
Education Minister Th Basanta Kumar said the varsity is striving to provide quality education.
“Bir Tikendrajit University seems to be striving to provide quality education with different courses notably Diploma, Graduation, Post-Graduation and Research programs. I am happy, that the local youths of the State will be immensely benefited by pursuing the courses,” said Th Basanta Kumar.
Later, the protocol officer administered the graduation oath to the students.
79 out of 91 graduating students received their degree certificates in person during the ceremony.
